Every so often, I come across a designer who makes my heart beat just a little bit faster. My response is usually to a space that manages to hit all the levels of classic and modern design mixed with edginess and timelessness rolled into one.
My latest heartthrob is Spanish designer Serge Castella. One goes to Mr.Castella’s bio and it simply lists some of his favorite things: Jean Michel Frank, Diego Giacometti, Yves Klein, Yves St.Laurent and carrot cake. Works for me. Mr. Castella’s work is featured in this month’s issue of Milieu and while the entire home is beautiful, it is the dining room, done in shades of sublime violet, that mesmerizes me.
Here are a few pieces from Serge Castella’s custom line of furnishings.
Serge Castella // Wenge Bookshelves
Serge Castella // Esparto Stool
Serge Castella // Chromed Bench
Some of my favorite things, indeed.
