Followers of this blog know I’m crazy about Palm Springs. The rugged, lunar landscape, intense blue sky, and super cool mid-century vibe are just irresistible. Throw in a dash of Frank Lloyd Wright inspired architecture with a Mayan Revival theme and you’ve got designer Michael S. Smith‘s home in Palm Springs that he shares with his partner and ambassador to Spain, James Costos.

Designed in the early 1970’s by Howard Lapham, the house references many of Lloyd Wright’s Mayan inspired architecture such as the Millard House, Hollyhock House, and Ennis House here in Los Angeles.
