Thanksgiving Tablescapes

We know you’ve been busily preparing for this week’s Holiday feast….from your tried and true roasted turkey technique to the creamy mashed potatoes (and that chestnut and sausage stuffing your family begs you to make every year) it’s hard to pick a more traditional and more celebrated meal than Thanksgiving dinner. Although it may feel like it’s taken you all week to prep as well as hours of slaving away in the kitchen, isn’t it always well worth it to sit down to a beautiful meal with your loved ones in town and, okay, maybe the big game on the TV in the background?

We love Thanksgiving, but of course, as On Madison always remembers, it is just as important to think about a well dressed tablescape. We’ve created a stunning collage of beautiful ways to arrange your plates and centerpieces and really dazzle your guests this year, as well as gorgeous dining room eye-candy to get you inspired for the new year! Get creative with fresh flowers and herbs, seasonal winter fruits (orange, pomegranate) and even succulents on the table to enhance your dining experience. After all, we eat with our eyes first, and who wouldn’t be delighted to sit down at some of the tables below?

Cheers to a wonderful holiday from all of us at On Madison!

Closet Case: Organization

I don’t know about you, but there are places in every house that have the potential to be disasters–both design wise and organizationally. Closets need to be functional but often are reduced to cluttered junk-pits and possess little to no style to speak of. The saying ‘form after function’ was never truer than when applied to the closet. Why not have your proverbial cake and eat it too? The closet can be elevated to a thing of beauty that also functions to organize even the worst clutter. And when the closet has a big dose of GLAM you know we’re loving it!

In the collage below On Madison profiles our favorite closet fantasies. Now all we need is some more shoes and bags to fill them up! Image credits via Pinterest.

A Mid-Century Makeover

I don’t usually like to talk about my personal life in this blog, but I have to share that my husband and I just purchased a fabulous Mid-Century home in the hills above the Pasadena Rose Bowl. It needs some design help, of course, but the one thing it boasts is an absolutely killer view! The original pool and landscaping needs some serious re-tooling, which has me daydreaming about Mid-Century pools, landscaping, and outdoor furnishings.

What better inspiration for our blog than to showcase some of On Madison’s Mid-Century outdoor fantasies? Ah, I can taste that martini already…
