It seems I’m feeling very zen these days. That must be why I’m loving the paired down, somewhat austere aesthetic which reminds me of quietly spiritual places.
Such is the case with the severe and sculptural gardens by Fernando Caruncho in this month’s issue of Architectural Digest.
I adore the use of carefully raked gravel surfaces punctuated by the simple but strong geometric shapes of the fountain and staircases. Inside the house, Caruncho continues the spare, sculptural look in the lime mortar and Russian pine curved staircase.
Zen and chic…now that’s a combination.
