Korban Krazy

Sex, romance and fantasy. Hmm, that sounds pretty racy, but those are the elements that Ryan Korban uses to great effect in both his residential and commercial projects as chronicled in his new book “Luxury Defined.” I mean a man who loves fur, zebra skins, and graphic black and white as much as I do can’t be all bad.

Korbin and his bff Davinia Wang were the brainchildren behind Edon Manor, an accessories shop in Tribeca, whose style could be summed up as English library gone wild! It attracted so much attention that designer Alexander Wang came calling and tapped Mr. Korbin to design his New York flagship store. I mean a black fox fur hammock holding court in the middle of the store! Sex, romance and fantasy, indeed.

Here are some of our fave images.

Deniot Fever

Most of you have read previous blogposts know that I am positively mad for French designer Jean-Louis Deniot. His combination of classical references mixed with sublime mid-century pieces and those of his own design, makes me absolutely wild. In the latest issue of Architectual Digest, Deniot has his way with a Manhattan apartment designed by Annabelle Selldorf.

Jean Louis Denoit I adore the cool blues mixed with metallic in the double height livingroom. And the drapes are to die for!

Chairs Al Fresco

I am in the throws of finishing a design project involving a Coffee & Wine Bar here in beautiful Pasadena. Since there will be outdoor seating, what to sit on becomes an important focus. I mean, comfort, durability are important and fine, but heck, the chairs have to be fabulous and make a design statement as well!

So needless to say I have been looking at hundreds of chairs and here are some faves that I think will put the chic in your al fresco dining. Which would you choose to dine in?
