Gray Matter: François Catrou

Well hot off the heels of our last blogpost, we’re coveting the cool and collected look created by Francois Catroux for this London townhome. Soothing shades of white and soft grays mixed with gleaming metals, provide a sophisticated backdrop for modern art that energizes all those neutrals.

Francois Catroux Architectural DigestWe’re loving the crisp white outline on the library sofa and the “magazine wall” created by stacking them with their spines to the back of the bookcase, is proof that nearly everything can be turned into art.

Industrial Chic

City living sometimes requires creative living solutions. Soho, Noho, and the Arts District in L.A. have become magnets for those drawn to loft or warehouse spaces that offer a big dose of cool. These spaces are often characterized by soaring ceiling heights, warehouse windows, concrete floors and lots of metal. We’ve assembled a photo montage of some pretty nifty spaces that talk the industrial chic language.

Fabulous Fall Dining Rooms

Dining rooms are often the most neglected room in the house.  Eating areas that are extensions of kitchens and outdoor dining areas are often the preferred entertaining areas, especially in warm weather places like California. But now that Fall is here and there is a snap in the air, it’s time to think about taking the party indoors.

Here are some dining rooms that beg to be used everyday, not just on special occasions.
